Job summary

St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach seeks a Director of Maintenance to lead hands-on maintenance across the Parish, School and Daycare. You will supervise custodial staff, coordinate contractors, and guide safety and preventive maintenance across 14 acres of campus.

The role requires strong technical, supervisory and communication skills, with ability to balance in-house work and external contracts in a parish/school setting.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in building maintenance and facilities operations.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance environment.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct hands-on maintenance for parish, school and daycare facilities.
• Schedule and supervise maintenance and custodial staff; coordinate contractors.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, safety compliance and inspections.
• Coordinate facility needs with operations and ministry activities.
