Job summary
Montana State University is seeking a Laborer to support the Facilities Services team with maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction of campus buildings, grounds, and utilities in Bozeman. Under supervision, you will assist trades and operate a variety of equipment to keep university facilities safe and functional.
The role requires high school completion and experience with heavy equipment, general tools, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Progressively responsible experience in general construction laborer and facility maintenance
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, trucks, bucket trucks
- Experience using general construction tools and hand tools
- Strong customer service in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
- Provide support to trades including site prep and material delivery
- Perform and assist with skilled technical work (masonry, roof, demolition, etc.)
- Operate equipment to support campus operations, renovation, and maintenance
- Inspect and maintain roof membranes and drainage systems
- Assist with snow removal, waste management, stormwater, and events support
