Zane State College in Ohio is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee upkeep of campus buildings, grounds, and security. The role emphasizes safety and service in daily interactions with students, staff, and the community, while supporting continuous quality improvement in the academic support areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and building systems.
• Willing to work evenings/weekends.
• Operate power tools and facilities equipment.
• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Read and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Stand for up to 10 hours on concrete floors.
• Must have Ohio Driver’s License.
• Basic computer/tech skills including HVAC controls.

Responsibilities

• General and advanced maintenance of the campus buildings including preventative maintenance, lighting, minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC troubleshooting/repair; works with outside contractors.
• Daily and periodic deep cleaning of College buildings; manage cleaning supplies and inventory.
• Maintain the grounds including mowing, trimming, litter pickup, planting beds, and seasonal snow removal.
• Ensure safety and welfare of students, employees, and visitors; coordinate with local authorities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned: plan daily activities, small engine work, equipment maintenance, storeroom and delivery coverage.
