Job summary

Stanford University’s Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) seeks an Electrical Supervisor, Facilities Operations to lead the Building Engineering Trades team, ensuring safe, reliable operation of all campus electrical and related systems.

Under the District Supervisor/Facilities Manager, you will supervise bargaining unit staff, coordinate with vendors, and drive preventive maintenance plans, with 24/7 response obligations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising bargaining unit maintenance staff.
• Experience overseeing building systems (fire safety, mechanical/HVAC, electrical, plumbing) on a university campus.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage Stanford Bargaining Unit maintenance staff including hiring, training, and personal development.
• Oversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including: fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), Electrical (lighting, Building re-lamping, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switch gear), (Plumbing, Process Systems, Process Gases, Heating/Cooling Loops).
• Work with district/zones/BGM/utilities staff and contracting with outside vendors as necessary.
• Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working within the district’s buildings either as representatives of the building itself or tenants operating within the building.
• Communicate with internal and external clients including University Faculty and Staff regarding various areas of concern.
• Identify the maintenance objectives of the District facilities and incorporate those objectives into a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures.
