Job summary

New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, MA seeks a part-time housekeeper to clean and maintain campus facilities and equipment. The role includes floor care, sanitizing restrooms, and assisting with furniture setup for college events. Seasonal snow removal is required.

Physical demands range from light to medium-heavy, lifting 25–75 pounds occasionally, with possible assistance from coworkers. The schedule is Monday–Friday 10:00 AM–2:00 PM and Saturday 10:30 AM–7:00 PM (28 hours/week)

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and interpret documents in English (safety rules, MSDS, manuals).
• Must be physically able to perform essential duties.
• Must interact effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor cleaning and maintenance per schedules, including scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, drinking fountains, and office furniture; dust and polish surfaces.
• Move and set up office furniture for college functions and operations.
• Assist with seasonal snow removal.
• Respond to campus cleaning emergencies and report damages or needed repairs.
• Follow safety rules and use equipment properly, including OSHA regulations.
