Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus is looking for a part-time Maintenance and Custodial Technician to ensure a safe, clean, and functional campus environment. The role involves managing custodial tasks, basic maintenance, event setup, and minor repairs for classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.

The ideal candidate will perform floor care, operate routine equipment, and assist with light mechanical work while upholding safety procedures and providing student-focused service to faculty,

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in facility cleanliness and safety desirable.
• Willingness to perform light maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain designated campus areas including restrooms, classrooms and common spaces.
• Perform routine custodial duties: trash removal, dusting, mopping, vacuuming and sanitizing surfaces.
• Conduct basic floor care with occasional buffing or spot cleaning.
• Operate custodial and maintenance equipment as needed.
• Assist in event setup and small moves by relocating furniture and supplies.
• Perform minor repairs such as painting touch-ups and bulb replacements.
