Job summary

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and semi-skilled repair duties across multiple campuses. The role involves day-time travel within the district and reports to a Head Custodian or senior staff member. You will manage cleaning tasks and basic maintenance to keep facilities safe and functional.

This full-time position offers a competitive pay scale of $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience, with potential growth across campuses.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus one year paid full-time or part-time equivalent experience in building cleaning work.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, washes, dusts and performs other cleaning duties.
Vacuums and shampoos carpets and stuffed furniture.
Empties waste containers and disposes of rubbish.
Replaces light bulbs, towels, soap and other supplies.
Operates floor and carpet cleaning/scrubbing equipment.
Performs minor carpentry, mechanical and related tasks.
MInor plumbing and electrical repairs.
Routine grounds maintenance, including trimming shrubbery, snow removal.
Assists in unloading, moving, handling and delivery of equipment, furniture and supplies.
Utilizes appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks.
Maintains building recycling program.
Paints rooms and equipment.
