Job summary

Seminole State College of Florida is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial labor, cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining College facilities, contributing to a safe and welcoming campus environment.

The role includes operating cleaning equipment, following established procedures, and collaborating with other staff to meet daily cleaning needs and special event support. The position requires physical stamina, adherence to safety procedures, and a commitment to quality cleaning standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of hire, with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties related to cleaning, sanitizing and general maintenance of classrooms, restrooms, and other College facilities in accordance with College standards.
• Cleans, and polish fixtures, windows, mirrors and other areas and equipment. Cleans chalkboards and whiteboards.
• Provides exterior cleaning of windows, corridors, walkways, emptying outside trash, and sweeping. Monitors walkways and grounds to ensure they are free of trash, debris, clippings, etc.
• Strips, waxes, and buffs floors.
• Utilizes pressure washing equipment for cleaning as needed.
• Cleans and extracts carpets and upholstery.
• Provides custodial duties for special College events.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
