Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of relevant experience, and the ability to follow established cleaning procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year prior full-time relevant experience (such as commercial building maintenance or housekeeping).
• Must pass a pre-employment (post-offer) criminal background check.
• Demonstrated ability to foster cooperative work environment.
• Good listening skills to understand others and follow directions.
• Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, and wet-mop floors and/or stairs.
• Strip, wax, buff, and reseal floors using floor machines.
• Disinfect water fountains, urinals, sinks daily.
• Dust, clean, and polish furniture, counters, shelving, and windows/doors.
• Dust, mop, and wash walls, ceilings, and partitions.
• Clean lavatories, toilets, and bath facilities.
• Dispose of waste paper and other discards; bag trash for disposal.
• Empty trash receptacles and bag trash; lock doors after cleaning.
• Change light bulbs if directed.
• Maintain supplies for day-to-day tasks.
• Perform safety checks: doors, heating/AC readings, light switches.
• Sweep and remove snow and leaves from steps/sidewalks.
• Shampoo or spot-clean carpet using equipment and cleaning solutions.
• Move furniture to clear areas for cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
