Qualifications

• Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work including collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of information; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• An associate’s degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
• A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Investigate concerns related to occupational health and safety matters including odor, mold, noise, indoor air quality, and ergonomics.
• Conduct laboratory safety inspections.
• Conduct underground storage tank inspections.
• Conduct site inspections to support stormwater management programs.
• Collaborate with campus groups to identify stormwater management activities and best practices.
• Conduct hazardous waste storage inspections.
• Assist with hazardous waste, biohazard waste and universal waste programs including inventory, labeling waste containers, handling and transporting hazardous substances, and response to spills.
• Use air monitoring equipment and assist in obtaining asbestos and lead building samples.
• Prepare chain of custody forms.
• Assist with development and facilitation of employee environmental health and safety training programs.
• Escort contractors and vendors at work sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
