Job summary

University of Hawaii System seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to lead and coordinate campus EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupation Health and Safety, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
• Master’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety or related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate campus-wide EHS programs.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and plans.
• Conduct regular inspections of laboratories, classrooms, and facilities to identify hazards.
• Maintain records of training and certifications.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIOSH and Hawaii DoH requirements.
• Provide EHS training to faculty, staff and students.
