Job summary

Wichita State University is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to enhance a safe, compliant campus. The role coordinates EH&S functions, provides guidance, and implements plans based on applicable laws and audits.

The position may include training on environmental and safety management best practices and hazard identification and control. The candidate will work on-site, Monday–Friday, with hours 7:45 am–4:30 pm, and start pay at $29.45 per hour, commensurate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Seven (7) years of related experience; 30 hours of college coursework = 1 year up to 120 hours.
• Bachelor's degree in science related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate investigations of safety incidents.
• Audit labs/departments and generate corrective-action reports.
• Maintain records to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate safety needs and develop program action plans.
• Review safety data and prepare reports for regulatory agencies.
• Manage hazardous materials and waste program.
• Provide safety training and emergency preparedness guidance.
• Coordinate and track project tasks with progress against goals.
