Job summary

Aramark at the University of Alabama - Dining is seeking a full-time Food Service Supervisor to lead the team and coordinate daily operations in Tuscaloosa, AL. You’ll work alongside a manager to oversee staff, assist with production, and ensure food safety and quality per policies.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inventory, supervising employees, training, and supporting catering events. Candidates should be organized, able to handle stress, and committed to excellent service.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year.
• Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules and production sheets.
• Direct daily activities.
• Ensure food safety and quality according to policies and department requirements.
• Store food items in a safe, organized environment.
• Maintain serving schedules; ensure menu specifications are followed.
• Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes.
• Maintain inventory on a weekly basis.
• Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel and promote growth.
• Train/mentor other food service workers.
• Maintain logs on maintenance and equipment.
• Complete food safety/temperature logs with corrective actions.
• Perform preventative maintenance checklist and suggest replacements.
• Be multi-task capable and support catering events as needed.
• Attend meetings and maintain communication with staff.
