Job summary

The University of Utah Library is seeking a student assistant to create and manage usable items for online collections. You will digitize and post-process a wide range of media including film, audio, books, and photographs, and document descriptive information for online assets.

You will operate scanners and cameras, perform quality control, and maintain the production area. Strong communication and attention to detail in a team environment are essential; a criminal background check may be

Qualifications

Must work and communicate well in a team environment.
Ability to operate PC and Mac computers and digitization equipment.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Word, and Excel.
Working knowledge of digitization scanners, cameras and related hardware.

Responsibilities

Scan various material using digital scanners, recorders, and cameras.
Post‑process images to meet online and/or archival needs.
Document technical and descriptive information for online assets onto spreadsheets.
Import items into an online digital asset management system and perform quality control.
Maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition.
Exhibit the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Exhibit attention to detail.
