Job summary

The University of St. Thomas is hiring full-time, benefits-eligible Building Service Workers (custodial/janitorial roles) to help keep our campuses clean, safe, and welcoming. As part of the Facilities Management team, you’ll play an important role in creating an exceptional experience for our students, staff, and visitors by maintaining cleanliness and upkeep across our St.

Paul and Minneapolis campuses. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with five consecutive workdays; weekend shifts possible.

Qualifications

• Experience and working knowledge of proper custodial/janitorial cleaning procedures.
• Ability to read and understand instructions plus communicate for event set-ups and safety procedures with attention to detail.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment physical are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of assigned buildings in offices, athletic facilities, food service areas, classrooms, and restrooms.
• Vacuuming, dusting, washing and disinfecting surfaces, trash and recyclables removal.
• Periodic duties: carpet/hard floor work, bulb replacement, event setup, snow removal.
• Occasional room setup/teardown of tables and chairs for events.
• Occasional heavy lifting of furniture and custodial equipment.
