Job summary

Misericordia University is seeking a Custodian in Dallas, PA to keep university buildings clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will perform routine cleaning, restock supplies, and assist with event setup in classrooms, offices, residence halls, and other spaces.

The role requires the ability to work independently or in a team, with a focus on detail and safety. Evening and weekend hours may be required; starting pay is $14.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty and sanitize trash and recycling bins.
• Maintain and restock supplies in restrooms and other facilities.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as needed.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment effectively and safely.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
• Assist with setup and take down for university events as required.
• Collaborate with the custodial team to support overall operations and special projects.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
