Job summary

Spartanburg Community College is seeking a Lead Custodian for the Cherokee County Campus in Gaffney, SC. You will schedule assignments for custodial staff and supervise cleaning and housekeeping tasks on site.

You will provide leadership, training, and daily direction, ensure inspections and routine services are performed to standards, coordinate event setups, and monitor supplies and equipment across facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or pest control work related to the area of employment.
• Experience in leading and training employees.

Responsibilities

• Schedules assignments for all custodial personnel on the Cherokee County campus.
• Provides leadership, training, and daily work direction to custodial staff.
• Performs and oversees routine custodial services, including cleaning, sanitizing, floor care, restroom maintenance, waste removal.
• Coordinates, inspects, and supports special event setups and cleanings.
• Maintains inventory of custodial supplies and equipment; communicates needs to supervisors.
• Provides custodial coverage during staffing shortages and high-demand periods.
