Job summary

UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services (HHS) seeks a Custodial Supervisor to manage housekeeping for a multi-unit residence hall and related spaces. You will supervise full-time and seasonal staff, train on safety and cleaning procedures, and perform on-site inspections to uphold cleanliness and operational standards.

Daily duties include coordinating schedules, maintaining supplies, and ensuring adherence to university policies.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years custodial experience in a large institution.
• 1-2 years leading or overseeing teams.
• Experience in a higher education environment.
• Ability to write reports and payroll-related documents.
• Knowledge of safety rules and chemical handling as applicable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping functions for a multi-unit residence hall facility.
• Provide on-the-job training to staff on chemicals and equipment.
• Supervise 16-20 full-time and up to 10 seasonal staff.
• Ensure cleanliness standards meet customer expectations and safety guidelines.
• Conduct on-site inspections of units for quality control and maintenance needs.
