Job summary

Felician University is seeking an experienced Counselor to provide individual and group counseling, workshops, discussion groups, and other programs designed to support the mental health and well-being of Felician University students. The position is a full-time, in-person 12-month appointment.

Reporting to the Director Counseling and Wellness Services, the Counselor responds to psychological crises, provides consultation and outreach to campus staff, and develops and delivers educational

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related mental health field.
• Current NJ professional license as a LPC, LCSW, or Psychologies.
• Demonstrated experience counseling college students or adults with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present information via public speaking, workshops, training, and educational programming.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and online platforms.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Willingness to work in an office with a therapy dog present.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling, workshops, discussion groups, and other programs for student mental health and well-being.
• Respond to psychological crises and offer consultation to campus staff.
• Develop and deliver educational and prevention programs addressing mental health topics.
• Collaborate with Student Affairs and other divisions to promote a supportive campus culture.
