Job summary

UC Santa Cruz seeks a Psychologist, Generalist within CAPS to deliver diverse mental health services to students, including individual and group therapy, crisis response, and outreach. The role emphasizes collaboration with campus partners, supervision of trainees, and culturally competent care in a university setting.

The position supports on-campus work at the UCSC Main Campus with potential periodic remote elements, and requires California psychology licensure and strong crisis and group-work

Qualifications

• Valid California licensure in Psychology.
• Experience with brief therapy.
• Experience with long-term therapy.
• Crisis management skills.
• Experience with group psychotherapy.
• Multicultural and trauma-informed care experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in electronic health records documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief and long-term psychotherapy to students.
• Conduct intake assessments and crisis interventions.
• Offer case management and referrals as needed.
• Lead and participate in group counseling and psychoeducational groups.
• Collaborate with CAPS, SHS, and community resources.
• Supervise doctoral interns and postdocs as needed.
• Develop outreach trainings and campus presentations.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
