Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking a full-time staff clinician (Psychologist or LCSW) to provide mental health services to enrolled students. The role includes a clinical caseload and a leadership component in campus outreach, stigma reduction, and training.

The position reports to the Counseling Center's Executive Director and emphasizes inclusive, equity-centered care within a diverse campus community.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or fully licensed as a Psychologist (LP) in Colorado.
• License-eligible as a psychologist with requirement to become independently licensed within two years; social workers must have an LCSW.
• Clinical experience carrying a high caseload.
• Experience assessing crises and risk.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Experience conducting outreach presentations.
• Experience with brief and short-term psychotherapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide short term, goal-focused clinical services to students, including intake, counseling, crisis interventions, and consultations.
• Support Counseling Center training through seminars, supervision, and graduate trainee guidance.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation per center policies and confidentiality guidelines.
• Collaborate with Counseling Center staff and other university departments to coordinate care.
• Participate in outreach programs, suicide prevention training, and campus initiatives.
• Serve on internal/university committees to advance outreach and equity efforts.
