University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point is seeking a Hansen Hall Resident Assistant. This on‑campus, part‑time student role supports 45–70 residents per floor, promotes academic success, and provides programmatic opportunities.

You will live in a residence hall, assist with desk duties, and help maintain hall operations while meeting the 12+ credit hour requirement. The position includes meal-plan waivers, room-related benefits, and a semester stipend that increases after the first two semesters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at start of employment.
• Experience living in a residence hall for at least one semester.
• Enrolled as a full-time student at UW-Stevens Point (≥12 credit hours).
• Acceptable background checks and trust validation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating an academic environment and communicate academic support services.
• Model academic interests and study skills.
• Educate residents on community development and wellness through programming.
• Plan, develop, and initiate social and educational programs as directed by the Residence Hall Director.
• Provide information on campus and community resources.
• Serve as desk receptionist during opening and closing hours.
• Assist with room changes, single‑room assignments, and inspections.
• Maintain common‑area inventories and report maintenance issues.
• Attend weekly staff meetings, training, and duty assignments.
• Confront and report violations of university rules, policies, and the Clery Act.
• Enforce all rules, regulations, and policies fairly and consistently.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority for crime reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold FERPA and TitleIX policies.
• Participate in team decisions, share input on procedures, and support housing staff.
• Facilitate community development, support students in adjusting to residence life, and encourage resident involvement in the program board.
• Encourage academic achievement and help residents comprehend its importance to community development.
