Job summary

Bowie State University in Maryland seeks a Driver/Motor Coach Operator (Contingent II) to transport passengers and ensure safety. You will operate university vehicles per routes, perform basic maintenance, and document activities for daily operation.

Requirements include a Maryland CDL Class B with passenger endorsement, a high school diploma or GED, and a preference for 2 years of passenger transport experience. Shift availability includes weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Must hold Maryland CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and no air brake restrictions.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience operating commercial passenger vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates motor coaches, shuttle buses, vans and other University vehicles according to routes and safety procedures.
• Provides transportation for students, faculty, staff, and visitors for University events.
• Safely loads/unloads passengers and luggage while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Complies with FMCSA, DOT, State of Maryland, and Bowie State regulations.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and documents maintenance issues.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and completes mileage logs and reports.
