Job summary

Student PIRGs is seeking Campus Organizers to mobilize students on over 100 campuses for environmental, public health, democracy, and consumer protection campaigns. You’ll recruit volunteers, train leaders, and build coalitions to run strategic campaigns on pressing issues facing campuses across the country.

You’ll work with student activists, develop leadership, and help organize educational events, media outreach, and grassroots actions while growing a durable student-led organization that can

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to environmental/public interest or student issues.
• Goal-driven and results-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work with diverse groups and step outside comfort zones.
• Passionate about creating positive change and willing to work hard daily.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and inspire hundreds of volunteers to engage in petitions, events, and campaigns.
• Help students run strategic campaigns on issues like environment, public health, democracy, and consumer protection.
• Build a diverse coalition of student organizations and partners.
• Train students to organize events, engage media, and advocate with officials.
• Develop and sustain a student-led organization through fundraising and campus relationships.
• Lead summer canvassing and outreach efforts to fundraise and mobilize grassroots support.
• Build the movement by recruiting volunteers, interns and additional organizers.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in decisions of significance.
