Job summary

Cornell University’s Audio Visual Services team seeks an AV Installation Technician to design, install, and support classroom and conference AV systems across campus. The role involves hands-on work, coordinating with partners and vendors, and managing multiple projects to enhance learning environments.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of AV installation experience, knowledge of AV components and signal flow, and the ability to read schematics and drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with four to six years of experience in audio-visual installation, low-voltage systems installation, or related technical field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of audio-visual system components, installation practices, and signal flow.
• Experience installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting AV and low-voltage technology systems.
• Ability to read system schematics, wiring diagrams and architectural drawings.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a complex enterprise IT environment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and support audio-visual systems across Cornell University.
• Coordinate with internal partners, contractors, and vendors on multiple projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpret technical documentation including schematics and drawings.
