Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous security officer experience preferred.
• Ability to gather and interpret information and to accurately complete required reporting procedures.
• Knowledgeable in search and seizure, constitutional rights, investigative, and interviewing techniques.
• Works independently and under indirect supervision.
• Maintains daily contact with a wide range of people including guests and officials.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all investigations and incidents.
• Must hold proper license based on state/local regulations.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lb.

Responsibilities

• Provides internal/external patrol of buildings and surrounding property.
• Locks and unlocks doors to permit entry at appropriate times.
• Checks buildings and work areas when not open for business.
• Monitors cameras, alarm systems, access control and admits appropriate personnel per lists.
• Conducts ongoing inspections to detect safety hazards.
• Prepares Safety Condition Reports and work orders when appropriate.
• Responds to emergency situations and coordinates with authorities.
• Takes possession of found property and escorts guests and staff.
• Maintains security and protects assets through controlled access.
