Job summary

Puc Schools is seeking a dedicated Campus Aide for their PUC Sylmar Ed Complex, tasked with supervising students and ensuring safety. Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is a non‑profit network of public charter schools dedicated to increasing high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North‑East Los Angeles and the North‑East San Fernando Valley.

Our mission is to develop and manage high‑quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low‑achieving schools. We create school programs and cultures that promote college graduation for all students, and we uplift and revitalize communities through student success and inspirational partnerships.

The Team Member we are searching for

The ideal Campus Aide believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits leadership, reflection, and collaboration to ensure student success.

The Campus Aide is responsible for performing regularly scheduled non‑classroom supervision duties, supervising students in hallways, assembly areas, eating areas, restrooms, playgrounds, and other assigned spaces.

What you will need to accomplish:
  • Enforce activity and safety rules in school buildings and on school property.
  • Report serious problems, including recurring behavioral problems and safety hazards, to the Principal or another designated certificated employee.
  • Work with school staff to alleviate behavioral problems during supervision periods.
  • Assume responsibilities in inclement weather as assigned by the Principal or other certificated employee.
  • Check restrooms in the morning, during breaks, lunch, and after school following PUC Schools restroom policy as assigned.
  • Constantly move throughout the school (e.g., eating area, bathroom area, playground).
  • Walk and stand in one‑hour increments.
  • Perform cleaning duties of school grounds at multiple intervals throughout the day to keep the campus free of trash.
  • Tear down, clean up, and sweep meal distribution areas.
  • Assist in custodial duties such as wiping tables and benches in the cafeteria and outside eating areas.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as arranging objects, putting items away, wiping down tables, chairs, work and play areas, equipment, and arranging furniture.
  • Support setup and tear‑down for school events such as graduations, dances, and school functions.
  • Support daily restroom cleaning (mopping floors, disinfecting high‑touch areas, erasing markings, cleaning sinks, changing trash bags, unclogging toilets).
  • Maintain acceptable standards of behavior among students and exhibit courtesy, poise, tact, and good judgment.
  • Encourage students in games and activities.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, community representatives, parents, and students.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Education

Experience

Previous experience working with youth.

Physical Demands

May kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds, bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at or below shoulder level.

Always required to wear appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
