Job summary

Samford University is seeking an Electronics Security Systems Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and document its electronic security systems across campus. You will handle access control, CCTV, door hardware, and related low-voltage equipment on a Genetec-based platform.

Role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in security install/maintenance, a valid Alabama driver’s license, and physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or maintaining electronic security systems.
• Possess a current, valid Alabama driver's license.
• Ability to move, lift, or carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and work from ladders and lifts.
• Experience with Genetec Security Center or similar enterprise level platforms.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair access control systems and related components.
• Maintain CCTV/video-surveillance systems and camera alignment.
• Coordinate with Public Security and other campus stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Respond to work orders and communicate repair status clearly.
• Maintain system standards, access-control programming, and project priorities.
