Job description

Congregation Rodef Sholom is a vibrant Reform congregation, and Marin County’s first Jewish congregation, founded in 1962. Located in San Rafael, California, Congregation Rodef Sholom draws members from across the Bay Area — multi-generational families, young professionals, interfaith families, and those exploring Jewish life for the first time. Guided by our Sh'ma statement‑\"Igniting the passion to connect: with Jewish values, with each other, and with our world\"‑Rodef Sholom is a kehilla kedosha, a sacred community rooted in connection, purpose, and shared responsibility.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join our team. We opened the doors of our new, state-of-the-art synagogue in 2024 and have been growing ever since. Every member of our team helps expand our engagement with Jewish and interfaith families, bringing a vibrant and meaningful Judaism to the next generation and broadening what it means to be Jewish in Marin and the Bay Area. Guided by a commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and social justice, we strive to create a welcoming community where all people can participate fully, find belonging, and work together to build a more just and compassionate world.

As Campaign Manager, you will partner closely with the Executive Director, clergy, and campaign volunteers to help drive a transformational fundraising effort in Rodef Sholom’s history. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence campaign strategy, build relationships with transformational philanthropists, and help shape the future of an organization with over 1,100 member households.

This is an opportunity for a development professional who is both strategic and highly organized, someone who can manage complexity, manage operational and management systems, build strong relationships, and keep a major campaign moving forward with clarity and momentum. The Campaign Manager will direct campaign implementation, ensuring that priorities are clear, stakeholders are aligned, and progress is consistently advancing.

This is an in-person position with the opportunity for hybrid flexibility. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from San Rafael, CA.

  • Develop and maintain clear, consistent campaign reports for staff and volunteer leadership

Pipeline Management and Donor Relations

  • Prepare donor communications, proposals, and briefing materials, and support coordination and follow-up for donor engagement
  • Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of donor and prospect data
  • Advise on and participate in major gift solicitations as appropriate

Leadership and Volunteer Management

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and volunteer leadership to continue shaping and implementing the strategic direction of the campaign.
  • Equip volunteers for donor meetings by preparing briefing materials, talking points, solicitation strategies, and clear follow-up steps.
  • Develop strategy, agendas, materials, and talking points for campaign committee meetings.
  • Facilitate committee meetings and ensure timely follow-up, setting actionable steps for volunteers and staff partners.

Communications and Events

  • Develop and revise campaign materials and donor communications in partnership with Marketing team
  • Assist with donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship strategies and support cultivation events
