Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden seeks an Assistant Director, Campaign to support the Branching Out fundraising campaign and related efforts. You will help leadership secure significant new philanthropic investments for a major capital construction program.

You will combine project management with persuasive writing to plan, prepare, and track activities. The role requires collaboration across Advancement, Finance, and Capital Projects, with occasional evenings or weekend events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 4+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional persuasive writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
• Experience with donor communications and grant budgets.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for events and donor visits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain campaign budgets and tracking documents.
• Draft compelling fundraising communications (pitch decks, budgets, proposals, letters, updates).
• Record donor activity and correspondence in Raiser's Edge and files.
• Prepare for staff site visits for donors, including tours for VIPs.
• Assist with staffing fundraising and stewardship events.
• Support donor/prospect research and briefings for campaign activities.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
