Job description

Do you have aquatics experience and are a certified Lifeguard? Do you enjoy working with youth in outdoor settings? If so, please consider applying and joining the Camp Lowe team!

If you are chosen as our candidate, you will be expected to teach YMCA swimming lessons, guard free swimming, and lead boating (canoeing). The position requires pre-camp training held in June and runs for the duration of camp from late June to late August.

Location: Camp Lowe, 132 Fort Pond Inn Road, Lancaster MA

Job Type: Summer Seasonal

Shifts: Mondays-Fridays 8:00am-4:30pm; Camp runs from June 30th, 2025-August 29th, 2025. Possible weekend shifts availability also.

Training: Association Wide All Staff Camp Training on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 (Location-TBD). Pre-Camp training is required--dates TBD.

Pay: $18.00 per hour for new hires and $18.50 per hour for returning Camp Lowe Lifeguards. Plus, access to YMCA facilities and Employee Assistance program for all YMCA of Central Massachusetts employees.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 18 years old
• Must hold current & active Lifeguard Certification
• Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration certifications required
• Experience teaching swimming lessons and working in dark water (ponds/lakes) is a plus.
• High school Diploma or equivalent preferred
