Job summary

Peninsula Jewish Community Center's Camp KEFF in Foster City, CA is hiring Camp Counselors for a seasonal, day-time program. You will help ensure a safe, fun environment and support campers as they grow in self-esteem, friendships and skills during week-long sessions.

Qualified applicants are high school graduates (18+) with camp or youth experience preferred. Training is paid; salary is $721–$836 per week plus $18/hour for extended care hours, and free Athletic Center membership during

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the emotional and physical safety of children.
  • Resolve conflicts within the group as necessary.
  • Support staff from vendors by assisting with group and behavior management of campers while they facilitate programming.
  • Engaging with campers.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff.
  • Support goals and spirit of Camp Keff programming.
  • Uphold the mission and values of the PJCC and Camp Keff.

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center's (PJCC) Camp KEFF has provided outstanding summer, fall, winter, and spring programs for youth from preschool to grade 11 for more than five decades. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where youth & teens can play and grow while loving their authentic selves. Hundreds of campers attend our programs each year to enjoy our week-long sessions filled with Jewish values, inspired to make the world a better place! All our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association.

Camp Counselors are the heart of Camp Keff programs. Under the direction of the Camp Director, counselors work to ensure that each child feels welcome, safe, and loved at camp through their daily interactions with children under their care. Counselors have a special opportunity to make a change in the life of a child while developing valuable professional skills and program planning experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Hours:
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm, Friday October 1, 2026 (paid training)
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, October 5 - October 9, 2026

Salary Range: $721- $836 per week (5 days), plus paid training. Additional rate of $18.00/hour for all extended care hours. Free membership to the Athletic Center during the days in which you are contracted.
