Job summary

Bangor YMCA is seeking enthusiastic Camp Counselors to create a fun and safe summer environment for children to learn, grow, and make memories.

You will plan age-appropriate activities, supervise campers, help organize daily schedules, and support positive social interactions while fostering an inclusive, supportive community. First aid certification is preferred, and ongoing safety training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• First aid certification or willingness to obtain before employment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage behavior and promote positive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts for campers
• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
• Assist with organizing and implementing daily schedules and routines
• Provide guidance and support to campers in their social interactions
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all campers
• Collaborate with other camp staff to create engaging programs
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of camp facilities

• – Experience in tutoring, babysitting, childcare, or special education is a plus


• – Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting
