Camp Housekeeper/Laundress (Seasonal)

Location: Burkesville, KY

About this opportunity: (Seasonal)

This position is responsible for assisting with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the camp's housekeeping and laundry services. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, laundry duties, and supporting camp activities as needed.

Key responsibilities:

1. Clean camp facilities and offices; manage linens including collection, washing, folding, storing, and distribution.
2. Maintain staff laundry schedule and handle daily laundering of staff and camper linens.
3. Ensure linens from dining rooms are washed after each meal and restocked.
4. Assist in securing linens for campers without proper linens.
5. Monitor and replace light bulbs; ensure all fixtures are functional.
6. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; replenish supplies.
7. Perform floor cleaning tasks: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, and sidewalk cleaning.
8. Clean windows; dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
9. Participate actively in camp programs, including supervising evening activities, special events, overnights, and camp functions.
10. Assist with meal supervision by sitting with campers and serving as a table monitor when needed.
11. Maintain personal living quarters in an orderly condition.
12. Support camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.
13. Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Endurance for activities such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for housekeeping activities. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to live on-site and work irregular hours, with exposure to sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
