ELS is hiring for the position of Camp Host/Ranger in Urbanna, Virginia.

What You'll Do

The Campground Ranger position may include walking or patrolling the grounds of the campground, answering questions, enforcing rules, and ensuring the safety of our guests and their belongings. The ideal employee can handle stressful situations calmly and respond appropriately according to local, state, and federal law.

Your Job Will Include

• Monitoring the property for issues or potential problems.
• Ensuring the property is properly secured.
• Ensuring guests comply with resort rules, responding to concerns, and contacting law enforcement if necessary.
• Monitoring incoming guests through the campground gate and validating access.
• Performing routine patrols, golf cart and rental inspections.
• Taking camping reservations, checking guests in and out, and selling day passes and store items.
• Prioritizing guest safety and satisfaction.
• Performing on-call emergency services as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience You Need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and proficiency with computer applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to assess situations, exercise quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a friendly demeanor.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or RV environments is a benefit.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays regularly.
