Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory in Florida is seeking a Camp Nurse to plan, direct, and supervise medical care for staff and campers at Camp Keystone in Starke.

The role requires an active RN license and four years of supervisory nursing experience, with CPR and First Aid certification. You will oversee the Health Center, dispense medications per physician prescriptions, and ensure ACA-compliant safety.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse certification required.
• Four years progressively responsible experience supervising nursing activities, preferably in a camp, school or related environment preferred, OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides or ensures orientation that includes standing orders, clinic hours, camper health needs, health center procedures, emergency procedures, staff health assessment, contacting parents, transportation to outside health facilities, and first aid in the camp setting.
• Trains counselors on duties relating to noting and reporting illness, injury or unsafe practices.
• Oversees nursing staff activities and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintains health and safety of all campers and staff per ACA Health and Wellness Accreditation standards.
• Manages medication handling, health history forms, and camper health records.
• Facilitates Health Center setup, maintains cleanliness and supplies, and locks up medications.
