Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) seeks a Camp Director to lead staff culture and youth programs at Camp Mendocino and SF facilities. The role combines supervision of 90+ seasonal staff with strategic enrollment, marketing, and community partnerships.

The position requires on-site summer work, a valid driver’s license, and experience with ACA accreditation. Hybrid travel between San Francisco and Mendocino is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership/management experience in youth development and overnight camp management
• Experience serving youth from diverse backgrounds utilizing trauma-informed practices and positive youth development
• Proven success assembling, training, and supervising large teams (75+ seasonal staff)
• Proven track record of effective financial management, including both cost management and revenue management
• Experience with ACA accreditation, safety protocols, and emergency-response planning
• Ability to live on-site during the summer season (at least 12 weeks)

Responsibilities

• Staff Culture & Supervision: recruit, hire, train, and supervise 90+ seasonal employees for summer operations, driving a safety-centered culture
• Youth Recruitment, Marketing & Program Strategy: drive camper recruitment and enrollment, oversee systems and communications
• Customer Service & Off-Season Growth: market to and host third-party rental groups; deliver high-touch client relations
• Fiscal Ownership & Operational Collaboration: own Camp’s annual budget and collaborate on facility logistics
• Compliance, Safety & Data-Driven Outcomes: maintain ACA accreditation and safety regulations; use outcome data for improvement
