Job summary

The Gordon JCC in Nashville seeks an experienced Camp Davis Director to lead an award-winning summer camp and related programs year-round. This role drives strategic vision, program development, enrollment, and financial sustainability while upholding Jewish values and community engagement.

The Director will recruit and develop staff, manage the operating budget, build partnerships with schools and partners, and coordinate with marketing to raise community awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, recreation management, youth development, business admin, or related field.
• Demonstrated success leading camps or residential camps.
• Proven experience designing innovative camp programming.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising large seasonal teams.
• Strong budget management and financial planning skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of youth development, camp operations, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, staff development, and team-building skills.
• Excellent organizational, budgeting, and project management abilities.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with families, staff and community partners.
• Proficiency with camp management software like CampMinder, MyCampApp, Daxko, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of Camp Davis programs and events.
• Ensure programs are safe, engaging, and high-quality and align with the Gordon JCC mission.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate year-round and seasonal staff.
