Job summary

YMCA of Central New York is seeking a Camp Evergreen Assistant Climbing Director for the summer season. Under the Camp Director, you will supervise climbing activities, help plan daily and special programs, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for campers aged 3–14.

The role requires 18+ years of age, prior camp experience, and CPR/First Aid certification. Seasonal, exempt position with a $4,200 seasonal salary and training pay of $15.50/hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of camp or youth program supervision experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong organizational and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to staff training and orientation.
• Oversee daily climbing activities and camp programs.
• Coordinate with Camp Director and other directors on session plans.
• Ensure safety protocols and camper supervision at all times.
• Provide feedback to the Camp Director and mentor CITs and junior staff.
• Assist in special events and rainy-day activity planning.
