Job Description
  1. Req#: 33718
  2. Position: Camp AV Specialist (Program Assistant/AV)
  3. Summary: Prepare, plan, and operate audio/visual equipment for meetings, events, and classes at Salvation Army camps. Record camp activities for publications and capture videos/photos for promotional use.
  4. Responsibilities:
    • Set up, adjust, and operate AV equipment for camp programs, worship services, and concerts.
    • Operate and install AV equipment, keep the sound room organized, and report issues to the Program Director.
    • Secure equipment after sessions, videotape activities, and produce review and promotional videos.
    • Instruct staff in AV material use, plan AV teaching aids, and perform basic maintenance.
    • Maintain AV materials collection, ensure safety procedures, and participate in camp activities and programs.
    • Assist with meals as a table monitor and keep personal quarters tidy.
    • Participate in camp programs as directed by the Camp Director and perform other duties as assigned.
  5. Materials/Equipment: Camp equipment, slide/overhead projectors, digital cameras, MS Office, AV equipment.
  6. Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of media production, electronic equipment, video principles, effective communication, emergency procedures, operating digital cameras, group instruction, safety enforcement, and physical endurance.
  7. Education/Experience: Two years’ experience in video production preferred or equivalent training/experience.
  8. Certifications: CPR & First Aid.
  9. Physical Conditions: Endurance for physical tasks, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in outdoor conditions, and live in camp setting.
  10. Additional Info: Camp staff orientation from 6/10/2025 to 6/15/2025; summer camp from 6/16/2025 to 7/19/2025. Must be willing to work irregular hours and participate in camp activities.
