General Summary:

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who is experienced in the development of software for Mobile/XR/Auto. This role requires working at all layers of the camera software stack, from Android Camera HAL to low-level hardware control.

Responsibilities include software architecture design and understanding of new image processing features, support for new hardware, optimizing, and working with Camera Driver Development teams who are leading partners to build world-class camera solutions. The successful candidate will be exposed to advanced camera features using varied accelerators including ARM, DSP, GPU, and the immensely powerful camera SW framework to enable testability for complex camera features and work with cutting-edge imaging sensors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with architecture and design of large software projects.
• Experience with designing and developing multi-process and multi-threaded applications.
• Experience writing C/C++ based drivers (preferably Linux).
• Prior experience with system-level object-oriented software design and test-driven development.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and ability to closely work with Internal Test teams and external teams.
• Ownership of tasks and ability to work in large teams.
• Excellent triage and system-level debugging skills working in test embedded systems.
• Detail-oriented, thorough, and analytical approach required with excellent communication skills.
• Experience developing Android Camera HAL based applications.
• Strong knowledge of Android Frameworks, HAL and ISPs, Linux, and Camera Features.
• Previous experience in camera ISP and camera framework is a plus.

Level of Responsibility:

• Working under close supervision.
• Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; errors made typically only impact timeline.
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities.
• Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur.
• Exercising some creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.
• Using deductive problem solving to solve moderately complex problems.

The responsibilities of this role do not include:

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$89,000.00 - $133,600.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants.
