Job summary

BlockReel is seeking a talented 1st AC for an independent music video in San Francisco, shooting early December 2026 for 2–3 days. DOE compensation. Must have a sharp eye for focus and strong camera operating support, with experience on digital cinema cameras (RED/ARRI preferred).

You'll manage camera setup, maintain focus, prep gear, and assist the DP on set. This is a collaborative, high-energy shoot; local hires are preferred.

Job description

Seeking a talented 1st AC for an independent music video project shooting early December 2026 for 2-3 days. Compensation is TBD based on experience. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for focus and strong camera operating support skills for a fast-paced, high-energy music video. The project has a dark, atmospheric indie-pop vibe, think stylized visuals with creative lighting and dynamic camera movement. Your responsibilities will include managing camera setup, maintaining focus, preparing and managing camera gear, and assisting the DP on set. This is a collaborative environment, so good communication and a proactive attitude are key. You'll need to be organized and comfortable working with digital cinema cameras (RED/Arri experience preferred). Please have a solid resume and reel demonstrating your experience with similar music video or narrative projects. We'll provide lunch, snacks, and craft services on set. Gear will be provided, but familiarity with various camera systems is a plus. Based in San Francisco, local hires preferred.
