Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Camera Electrical Engineer in Mountain View to help design advanced camera hardware for consumer devices. You will work on system architecture, testable hardware blocks, and enable imaging features from sensors to interfaces.

The role requires a Bachelor's in EE/CE, 2 years Python/Matlab and hardware experience; Master's preferred. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and full product life-cycle exposure are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in EE or CE or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years Python/Matlab programming and AI agent prototyping experience.
  • 2 years hardware development in high-volume consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Derive system architecture for resources, power efficiency and camera hooks.
  • Develop schematics for camera modules with sensors, drivers and interfaces (MIPI, I3C/I2C, SPI).
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB/Flex layout supervision and SI/ power integrity checks.
  • Conduct system bring-up, validation, debugging, and present validation data.
  • Support hardware prototyping and validation for imaging tech.

Share Camera Electrical Engineer - Mountain View

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of programming experience in Python or Matlab and experience using AI agents to create/debug prototype code.
  • 2 years of experience in hardware development in high-volume consumer electronics.
Mid

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with using AI agents to quickly create/debug prototype code.
  • Comfortable with standard EE lab equipment (O-scope, VNA, multi-meter, power supply, signal generator) and experience with lab automation.
  • Demonstrated team work with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.

  • Derive a reasonable system architecture for system resources, power efficiency, and provide hardware hooks to support camera features.
  • Determine component-level requirements and develop schematics for camera modules containing image sensors, microcontrollers, AF/OIS drivers, and high-speed interfaces (MIPI, I3C/I2C, SPI), and design hardware to enable testing and future technology innovation.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB/Flex layout supervision, and simulations to meet high-speed signal integrity and low-noise power supply requirements.
  • Conduct system-level bring-up, validation, and debugging, document and present validation data.
  • Support hardware prototyping and validation for new imaging technologies.
