Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial in Calera, AL seeks an experienced CAM Programmer to develop CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines, design fixtures, and optimize manufacturing processes.

You will work with CAD data, support operators, and ensure safety and quality as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, tooling management, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of CAM programming experience.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Advanced computer skills required.
• Minimum skillset of a Machine Operator II.
• Experience with CAM software (SolidCam).
• Able to communicate effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of CAM programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.
• Design tools, fixtures, and tooling databases for multiple machines.
• Translate CAD data to offline programming formats for shop use.
• Troubleshoot and edit programs on machines as required.
• Support operators with questions on programs, tolerances, and part files.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
