CAM/NC Manufacturing Engineer — CNC Programming Specialist (Pittsburgh — Cheswick)Step into our Cheswick facility and picture your day: you begin by partnering with design engineers to release a new product, reviewing drawings for manufacturability and accuracy. You map out machining strategies, choose the right tools, and generate precise NC code in Mastercam and, when needed, Siemens NX. As the shop hums, you analyze workflows, equipment load, and labor standards to streamline operations, trim unit costs, and support engineering change evaluations. Throughout the day, you serve as a technical bridge—coordinating with program management, finance, quality, procurement, inspection, and production to keep everything moving.Later, you help assess a new machine-tool acquisition, contribute to tooling libraries, and mentor operator-programmers so great ideas become great parts—repeatably and safely. You also maintain rigorous revision control and security of NC files in line with EMD procedures.Impact You’ll MakePartner with design engineering to coordinate product release and conduct manufacturability reviews of engineering drawings.Perform operations and methods analyses tied to labor standards, product flow, and equipment/labor requirements to boost productivity and cut unit costs.Act as a technical liaison with cross-functional teams (program management, finance, design, quality, procurement, inspection, production).Develop machining processes and tooling strategies for components and sub-assemblies; build and maintain tooling libraries in CAM.Create and manage NC programs (Mastercam; Siemens NX a plus) with strict revision control and security per EMD procedures.Collaborate on new NC machine tool acquisitions and training/mentorship for operator-programmers.What You BringBS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).5+ years in manufacturing (machining, welding/fabrication, assembly, electrical, or plastics).5+ years CAM programming experience (e.g., Mastercam) for NC code generation; Siemens NX exposure is advantageous.Fluency in blueprint reading and GD&T to ASME Y14.5M.Background with commercial nuclear and/or military quality systems.Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel; familiarity with 3D solid modeling is a plus.Ability to obtain and maintain the security credentials required for DoD-related work. You’re Proficient InGD&TIndustrial/Manufacturing EngineeringCNC Tooling and CNC ProgrammingDesign for Manufacturability (DFM)CAD/CAM softwareOperating within a manufacturing environmentBlueprint readingTools You’ll UseCAM Software: Mastercam; Siemens NXRewards & CultureWe prioritize your well-being and growth:Paid Time Off401(k) with Employer Match and Profit SharingHealth and Wellness BenefitsLearning and Development OpportunitiesReferral ProgramCompetitive Pay and RecognitionEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (learn more)Inclusive & Supportive CultureCompensationSalary: $75,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year.
