Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a farm laborer to assist with calving cows and bred heifers, monitor labor signs, and provide postnatal calf care. The role includes moving newborn calves, sorting livestock, and adjusting nutrition during lactation.

Daily duties cover feeding, hay handling, basic equipment maintenance, and assisting veterinary visits. Applicants should have at least 2 months of livestock experience and basic English literacy.

Qualifications

• 2 months experience with livestock is required or preferred.
• Basic English literacy is required.
• Driver's license within 30 days of hire may be required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with calving cows and bred heifers, monitor labor signs.
• Support delivery and postnatal calf care; move newborn calves as needed.
• Sort cows and calves within calving group; monitor calf health.
• Adjust cow nutrition during lactation transition; mix and distribute rations.
• Handle hay bales and minerals; basic livestock feeding tasks.
• Assist veterinary visits; gather animals and prep treatment areas.
• Perform routine equipment, building, and fence maintenance.
• Maintain clean housing and pens; observe health and safety rules.
