Job summary

Caltrans is hiring a Landscape Maintenance Worker in Shasta County. The position, titled CALTRANS LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE WORKER, is a permanent, full-time role with the California Department of Transportation. Salary ranges from $4,102.00 to $4,865.00 per month, with new-to-state hires placed at the minimum of the classification.

Job Description And Duties

Under the supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor in Special Crews headquartered in Redding, the Caltrans Landscape Maintenance Worker performs miscellaneous laboring duties in conjunction with the maintenance and repair of State highways and other assets such as facilities, rest areas and landscapes. The incumbent works individually and with a crew, and is required to work overtime, nights and weekends due to storms, emergencies, or special work projects, as determined by the Supervisor or Department. May be loaned to another crew. A valid Class C driver's license is required. This position is represented under collective bargaining. This is a designated travel crew and works out of town on a per diem basis up to 80% of the year.
