Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a Landscape Maintenance Leadworker in Alameda County. The role supports planning, scheduling, and supervising field operations, including emergency response tasks and encampment cleanups.

The incumbent will lead teams, manage labor and materials records, and may travel or work varied shifts including nights and weekends. A valid CDL-B with Tank Vehicle N endorsement and a QAC license are required.

Qualifications

• Valid California CDL with Tank Vehicle N endorsement required.
• Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) license required before appointment.
• Overtime, night/weekend shifts may be required.
• CDL questions must be answered on the application.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor in planning, scheduling, and performing work.
• Oversee and lead field operations related to Emergency Response Incidents.
• Lead encampment cleanups, illegal dumps, and related maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment and materials usage.
• May be assigned to clean freeway spills and respond to emergencies.
