Qualifications

Qualifications

Job Summary

The CALPADS Data Manager reports to the Director of Data, ensuring accurate data transmission from the Student Information System to CALPADS and other reporting systems, adhering to deadlines, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with reporting systems, especially CALPADS, by maintaining accurate data
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and submit data, reconciling discrepancies
  • Coordinate data reviews, serve as liaison, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Design, develop, and submit reports within deadlines
  • Document data requirements and stay informed on updates through trainings and research
  • Support CALPADS certification and train staff on reporting procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security
  • Coordinate CRDC reporting, manage data requests, and support SIS as needed

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, student information systems, and database management
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Understanding of educational data management procedures
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently from home

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience with databases and data reporting in education
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Wearing PPE when needed, frequent talking and hearing, long periods sitting or walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, reaching, bending, carrying, and stooping

Additional Requirements

  • Satisfactory background check, jail clearance if applicable, and TB test results within 60 days

Work Environment

  • Moderate to high noise, variable settings, safety risks in underserved communities, primarily remote work within California, with up to 10% travel
