Job summary

ArtSmart is seeking mentors to provide weekly on-site music lessons and mentorship for students at multiple studios from October through May. You will coordinate schedules for auditions and performances, while supporting each student’s development and preparing them for at least two performances.

You will engage with the ArtSmart community, attending meetings and sharing stories to help keep the curriculum mentor-centric.

Qualifications

  • Provide weekly on-site music lessons and mentorship (private or small-group) from October through May.
  • Collaborate with school site ambassador to schedule rehearsals, auditions, and performances.
  • Act as ArtSmart ambassador to the community and collect feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules and logistics for auditions, lessons, and performances.
  • Prepare students for at least two performance opportunities.
  • Attend community meetings and complete mentor surveys to improve curriculum.
  • Share ArtSmart stories through occasional media content.

Job description

  • Pay rate of $222 (1 to 1) or $244 (VTP) per week, per studio
  • Semi-monthly pay during the program term
  • Consistent support from regional coordinator and operations staff
  • Flexible scheduling for performing artists: You work with the school site ambassador to determine a schedule that works best for you
  • Provide weekly on-site music lessons and mentorship (private or small-group) to students for at least one studio from October through May

From October through May, ArtSmart provides evidence-based music mentorship to help students develop life skills beneficial beyond the classroom. Students receive mentorship through private or small-group settings.
One-to-One Mentorship Program
  • Individualized instruction through private voice and instrumental lessons that explore diverse repertoire, develop confidence and self-esteem, and spark intrinsic motivation to acieve goals artistically and academically.
Vocal Theater Program
  • You will mentor small groups of 3 and guide the creation of an original theatrical piece with music and dialogue that explores social issues and personal values through team-building exercises, acting, and singing. Students develop transferable skills in teamwork and communication.
